Prerequisites for Using Enterprise Authenticators

There are several prerequisites for using enterprise authenticators and their features:

  • Acquiring an enterprise authenticator
  • OS restrictions
  • Browser restrictions and pre-configurations

Acquiring an Enterprise Authenticator

To use the enterprise authenticator feature, a dedicated authenticator that supports this functionality is required.
These authenticators cannot be obtained through general purchase channels.

If you wish to purchase one, please contact us via our inquiry form.

As of February 2025, only Yubico’s YubiKey series (Enterprise Profile) is supported as an enterprise authenticator.

Usage Restrictions

  • OS Restrictions for Authenticator Registration

When registering an authenticator through the management website, the OS must be Windows 11 or Windows Server 20251.
If registering an authenticator while using Remote Desktop, both the host and client machines must be running Windows 11 or Windows Server 20251.

Browser Restrictions and Pre-Configurations

The only browser that supports the enterprise authenticator feature is Chrome1.
This feature enforces restrictions by assigning end users to authenticators via the management website.
Therefore, you must use Chrome to operate the management website.

Additionally, configure the following settings in Chrome:

  1. Enter chrome://flags/ in the Chrome address bar and press Enter.
  2. Open the settings page and enable the “Web Authentication Enterprise Attestation” option.
  3. Enter https://fl.yubion.com in the text box.
  4. Click the restart button displayed at the bottom of Chrome to restart the browser.

  1. As of February 2025. ↩︎
